Totally Amped Electrical is an owner-operated electrical business run by Coel Jackson from our base in Waitākere. We wire new builds. We fix tired old switchboards. And we take on the overhead line work that most electrical companies turn down.
THE STORY
Built in West Auckland, one job at a time
Coel started Totally Amped Electrical in 2009 and has run it from West Auckland ever since. Out here the work keeps you versatile. One week it’s a new build going up on a lifestyle block near Kumeu. The next it’s a leaning private power pole on a bush driveway, then a commercial fit-out in Henderson to round things off.
Seventeen years on, the business is still owner-operated, and that’s deliberate. When you call us you’re not talking to a call centre or a franchise. You’re dealing directly with the people doing the work, and the owner who stands behind every job.

CREDENTIALS
Registered electricians, and why that matters
Electrical work in New Zealand is regulated for good reason. Our electricians are registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board, the government body that licenses electrical workers and keeps a public register anyone can search. Registration means the person on your property is trained, current and accountable. It also means the work gets certified properly once it’s done, which is the paperwork that matters when you sell or insure your home.
We’re also a Wiser approved installer, which covers the smart energy management side of newer homes.
WHAT WE DO
From new builds to line work
Most weeks are a mix. Residential jobs make up the bulk of it: think new builds, renovation wiring, electrical repairs and switchboard upgrades. Commercial clients use us for fit-outs and scheduled electrical maintenance. Then there’s the specialty that sets us apart. Private power poles and overhead lines call for line work experience that most general electricians don’t carry, and it’s been part of our toolkit from the start.
WHERE WE WORK
Based in Waitākere, working across Auckland
Home base is Waitākere, which puts most of West Auckland within easy reach. Henderson, Massey and Swanson are bread-and-butter territory for us, and Kumeu isn’t much further up the road. We take on jobs across the wider Auckland region too. The line work travels furthest of all, because so few companies offer it.
